About VIOSO

The company

The history of VIOSO starts in 2004 at the Bauhaus University Weimar with the “smartprojector” project. With the establishment of VIOSO® GmbH in 2007 the brilliant idea of “Projection on any surface” was patented and brought on the market in the form of a software package. It has consistently been developed further since then and today a
growing team of currently 13 employees apply themselves to realise VIOSO®’s goal in two locations (Weimar and Düsseldorf): “To supply international standard software for projection!”

At the moment VIOSO® offers smartprojecting for application in everyday presentations and smartprojecting expert for use in the professional field. In addition several projects according to client specifications are in progress under the name VIOSO® development.

Technology

The smartprojecting technology enables users to project on almost every surface without deformation and discoloration!

To create a virtual “white canvas” there is a simple calibration process. This takes not more than a few minutes and requires an extra digital camera, which is connected to the laptop for the period of calibration. The camera records several patterns displayed by the projector and transfers the information to the smartprojecting software. After that
the software edits all projected contents, so that it looks like being projected onto a flat, white canvas.

VIOSO®’s basic intention is to make projection as simple as possible for everybody. Therefore smartprojecting offers a variety of features to support in different situations and locations, making smartprojecting the most versatile projector tool.

Vision

Since the size of a mobile device is largely determined by the size of its display, solutions for yet readable displays occur. Built-in pico-projectors are the most promising solution, because of their ability to generate bigger images than any other screen technology would be capable of. And for that use-case smartprojecting is the only solution to use the environment as projection space.

It’s the vision of VIOSO®, for the software to be directly integrated into the hardware of mobile phones, projectors and other mobile devices. With the smartprojecting technology VIOSO® has the potential to provide a technique for everyone and everyday usage.
